Dr. Nanus

David M. Nanus, MD

The mission of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology is to offer comprehensive care in diagnosing and treating patients with cancer and non-malignant blood disorders. We are on the forefront of cancer treatment and our expertise manifests itself in superior patient care. We create an individualized treatment plan for every patient based on the latest scientific and technological advancements. Through collaboration among our clinical physicians and research scientists, our medical discoveries are translated into effective, leading-edge therapies. Through our intensive training and ongoing educational activities, our knowledge is always current and forward-thinking.

Our world-renowned team of oncologists and hematologists has the latest knowledge, expertise and experience. We offer specialized programs and Centers of Excellence in medical oncology (breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, genitourinary cancers, lung and thoracic cancers, brain tumors, as well as other less common solid tumors), blood cancers (lymphoma, myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, and myeloproliferative neoplasms), non-malignant hematology and vascular diseases, and bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. Within the Division, we have nearly 100 physicians and advanced practitioners, 13 fellows, and 11 independent laboratories focused on basic and translational research in hematology, vascular biology and oncology. Additionally, our Division has more than 100 open clinical trials, bringing some of the most innovative and novel approaches to cancer therapy out of the lab and directly to our patients.

To provide state-of-the-art, personalized patient care, we work closely with a talented and dedicated team of professionals drawn from the entire NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine community. This includes a multidisciplinary team of physicians from other sub-specialty areas, surgeons, radiologists, scientists, nurses, social workers, technicians and administrators.
